Today is a big day at FantasyTrophies.com. Today we get a shipment of oak that has already been milled to the profile we need to make bases. In the past we’ve had to go through a multitude of steps just to get the wood ready for assembly. We would have to cut a straight edge, cut it to width, cut the trim piece to width, plane the trim piece to 1/4″, cut a dado along the top edge, route the top edge and trim piece, and then nail the trim piece to the main boards. A ton of work to say the least. I’ve always tried to simplify the process without sacrificing quality. This shipment will hopefully be the answer I’ve been looking for. The best part about it is that the price was totally reasonable and my waste will be very minimal. Very rarely do you hit on a win/win so I’m definitely cherishing this one. Now we just have to unload it off the truck!
