Apparently head coach Eric Mangini is going to announce that Brady Quinn is going to be his starting QB when the Cleveland Browns face the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night. I hope he’s also going to announce that they somehow convinced the league to let the Browns play an extra 5 offensive linemen because Brady is going to be running for his life. Mangini’s handling of the QB situation in Cleveland has been nothing short of disastrous. Granted he didn’t flip a coin like Romeo Crennel, but his decision making isn’t far behind. Cleveland fans saw this coming when during the week leading up to week 1 against the Vikings Mangini said he was keeping his announcement of the QB private so that it would give the Browns a “competitive advantage.” Brady was given the starting nod and the Browns went on to get destroyed.
Now, after watching Derek Anderson post the lowest QB rating in recent memory, he is going to turn back to Quinn. Great. Though I think it’s the right move, it couldn’t come during a worse week. Monday Night Football and the Baltimore Ravens defense. This may be the most torturous game that will ever be witnessed on Monday night. Good luck Brady. You’re going to need it.-DM
