FANTASYTROPHIES.COM originated in 1993 while I was attending college as an Art major.  Being a fantasy nut myself, I was in a very competitive fantasy football league with many of my close friends.  However,  I felt  that our league needed to play for more than just a cash prize.  I knew that a trophy would add new interest and excitement to our league, but not just any ordinary trophy was going to do- not with the guys I was dealing with.  I didn't even bother looking for a trophy in the local shops or even on the Internet because I knew nothing remotely similar to what I had in mind even existed.   It was then that the fantasy Gods spoke to me and told me that I was to sculpt my own trophy. A trophy that would capture the true essence of what it means to be involved in fantasy football and to be a fantasy owner.  A trophy that would encompass  the strenuous season, grueling hours, physical demands, and painstaking attention to detail it takes to be invested in fantasy sports. A trophy that not only would exemplify these things, but would stand alone as a work of ART!
Thus, the "Armchair Quarterback" was born.
When the trophy was finally unveiled on draft day of 1994 our league instantly went from one that had an ordinary competitive state of mind that played for a cash prize to a "bite your head off, win at all cost, kick you in the nuts" mentality in order to have one's name forever engraved on the greatest fantasy football trophy ever created.-and oh yeah, a cash prize as well.
Since then I've sculpted trophies for both baseball and  basketball.  While working on all of these I've always sculpted them, first and foremost,  with the frame of mind of a fantasy sports fan.  Realizing that so much of fantasy sports in centered around BRAGGING RIGHTS I've tried to create trophies that take the desire to win one's league to a new and subsequent ultimate level.
